Rosemary Beach: Tracery Interiors

{ a few of my snaps from rosemary beach }

Our trek down 30A led us to Rosemary Beach. This seaside town was my favorite of all the towns along the gulf we visited. Cobblestone streets and beautiful light, airy architecture make you feel as though you've been transported to an entirely different country. Rosemary Beach is the perfect combination of the Traditional Neighborhood Development and the quintessential beach town. We went up and down the quiet streets and found a few favorite shops, one being Tracery Interiors.

 { above are a few of my favorite interiors from tracery interiors website }

Tracery has created interiors across the South. A peek at their website and blog will give you a glimpse at some of the beauty they've created. Based in Rosemary Beach, Tracery Interiors has a storefront that offers home furnishings, art and decor. Thomas Paul pillows, the simrin glasses I've been wanting and plenty of other gorgeous goods filled the stop. I ended up taking home a cute frame and some seashells to use as filler around my home.

Luckily the sweet girl behind the counter let me know that Tracery Interiors has an online shop. So even if you can't make it to Rosemary Beach you can still browse virtually.

Bunting Bonanza

When looking through my bookmarks it came to my attention that a plethora of bunting, pennant, flag, whatever-you-want-to-call-its were hiding there. Over the past few months I've collected many posts and pages in this theme. Bunting just seems so celebratory and I think that is why I'm enamored by it. Even when used it everyday applications it seems cheery+cute. Below are some of my faves I've saved.

Yellow and Grey

It is not a new color combo but it sure is appealing to me all of sudden. I think it has something to do with this. The unexpected pairing of an often deemed "dreary" color and the most cheery of hues is the perfect yin and yang of the decor world.

Everything Elegant

As if the pretty tapes, sticker and stationery weren't enough. HyeKyung takes lovely photos of her products for her shop NothingElegant. I pretty much want one of everything in the shop (and two of some things). Having lots of fun tapes and sweet office accessories will make me more productive and organized right?

Warm and Fuzzy...

My desire for warm sunshiny days and spring flowers is at an all time high. And my annual beach fever has come early. I put together some cheerful, spring like photos to help me daydream...

Enamelware

This enamelware is a perfect combination of retro and chic. It really screams spring+summer to me. I can imagine using the pitcher and glasses for lemonade. And doesn't it look just perfect for picnics? I'm not sure if I mentioned it already, but I'm so ready for warmer weather! ;-)

Painted Pretties

Never would I have thought that I'd love orange like I do in these photos. The combination of turquoise (pretty close to the color of the year) and yummy tangerine is just bold enough to be fun while remaining classically stylish. I wish I had an extra room in my house that I could incorporate this color palette into. Do you have any favorite color combos these days?

Kitchen Calendar

My kitchen needs one of these...both of these!

The tea towel calendars by Claudia Pearson are so retro chic! I always see lovely vintage calendar tea towels at flea markets, etc and it is neat to see this tradition carried on.
Her illustrated paper calendar is great too! It would be just darling in my kitchen...the colors would all coordinate nicely. And to top things off every month's illustration will show yummy delights that coincide with seasonal recipes on her blog.

I know January is days away but it is not too late to scoop up a new calendar right?

Office Clips

So the cleaning + organizing bug that often comes with the new year has bit me early. I spent the better part of my day on Sunday organizing our closet and dresser in the bedroom. Things are so nice and neat now--I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can make it last! Next on my list to straighten up: the office. Wouldn't these office clips be a cute + efficient way to keep your paperwork organized on your desk?

Do you have any organizational goals for the new year?

Under the Mistletoe

While we are talking about the holidays, I thought I'd share how I got myself in the mood for Christmas today: by lighting one of my favorite candles. This morning I pulled out my trusty scent, Yankee Candle's Mistletoe. It is my go to "Christmas tree smell." I lit it this morning and my entire office smells like a tree farm. This is by far the closest thing to having a real tree as the scent is so realistic. Best part is I bought a large jar a couple years ago and it is still going strong. I light it often during November/December then stow it away til the next year. I guarantee you this candle will get even the grinchiest of people in the spirit of the season (at least a little bit anyway)!

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

I'm hosting my very first Thanksgiving this year and I'm quite worried that it won't be as good as my mom's. She is the Thanksgiving hostess extraordinaire! So I'm using some of her recipes, and maybe trying a few of my own too. One thing I am pretty sure I can pull of is a nice tablescape. Here are some of my inspirations:

For the kiddos, wouldn't this be adorable? I just love it--so simple and easy!

Have you ever hosting Thanksgiving? Any tips for me?

Help!

I have a request for you guys, my lovely readers.
I found this photo and added it to my inspiration files but somehow didn't notate the source. It is quite the amazing kitchen! So one question is: Have you seen this room and know where it is from? But my really big question is: Where can I get a light fixture like that? One that won't break the bank of course!
Can you help me out dear friends?

ETA: Found out a few things so far...
1. My buddy Kate let me know this photo comes from interior designer: Emily Griffin.
2. Tracie found a very similar pendant from Restoration Hardware.
Still looking at options so feel free to send you finds along!

Day 8: H

I've lived in the same town my entire life and until I was 21 lived in the same home with my parents. Luckily, I love where I live and aside from the college days of wanting to try something different and go far away, I've never wished to be anywhere else. The hubby and I bought our first home last year and it is so wonderful be making our house a home. I'm grateful to have grown up in a community that I love. I'm even more grateful that my parents created such a perfect home for me and my sister. And I am every so grateful to be doing the same with my hubby. There's no place like home!

New Orleans Neutral

It seems like every thing in New Orleans is alive with vivid colors. I'm loving the Maselli's neutral home in The Crescent City. While maintaining a chromatic palette in the home, it still feels comfortable and welcoming...not cold or sterile. Hints of color appear here and there but I bet this calm color scheme is a welcome retreat from the lively saturation of 'Nawlins!

Dream Room

This bathroom is pretty much perfect in my eyes. Love the natural light, shiny metallic bathtub, decorative mirror, feminine chandelier, etched doors, and fluffy rug. I'm not much of a bath person but I think if I had a room like this I'd soak for hours. Wouldn't you?

Sunset Sale -- $5 Deal!

With Domino, Blueprint and so many other home magazines folding before our eyes I'm clinging to whatever favorite mags I can still get. I've enjoyed 4-5 Sunset issues via the bookstore and always found lots of inspiration and lovely home ideas, even as a Southerner. Now I just found a subscription to the magazine is on sale for only $5!!! So yep, I scooped up this subscription and if you are looking for a good home decor/style magazine you should too...not sure how long the sale will last. One small magazine victory I had to share!

ETA: Sale ends October 24th so save while ya can. :-)

Pumpkins and Porches

After yesterday's post, I was inspired to find more pretty porches. I found a plethora of photos on flickr that prove even if you aren't Martha you can still have a lovely porch. Here are some of my fall favorites:
