As hard as it is to imagine I still have an Athro gift card burning a hold in my pocket. I am thisclose to purchasing the Wrapped-In-Waterfalls Cardigan. I picture it with dark skinny jeans and ballet flats with a little sparkle. Is it a worthy splurge?

Little Gold Rush
When I was a child, we went to Colorado often during summer vacation. We always stayed in a really small town where other travelers were few and far between. In between horse-back riding, treks up the mountains, and fishing trips we would head "into town" to check out the local shops. Our first stop was always the old-fashioned ice-cream shop that served up the best cones we'd ever tasted. Afterward my sister and I would always convince our parents to head over to one of many "rock shops."
These shops were filled from floor to ceiling with every imaginable stone, mineral, geode and boulder--most of which were local. My sister and I would carefully choose sparkling crystals, vibrant stones and magical geodes as souvenirs to take home. Among my most prized acquisitions were rocks speckled with flakes of real gold and little jars of gold dust that glistened in the sunlight. These precious metal minis made us feel as though we were leaving with true riches!
Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Dollybird's Lil Gold Rush ring yesterday. Small remnants of golden quartz remind me of the treasures of my youth while providing a textural light show. I love the organic beauty and think this is the perfect grown-up version of my young obsession.

Flat Out
A few years ago flats were not my thing. Now they are. There is something so simple and classic about a sweet pair of ballet flats. Very Audrey. Sadly I ruined my favorite NEW pair at a recent shoot so I'm on the hunt for a new pair or two. I stumbled across these plaid pretties while searching. They are a little bit classic, a little bit 80s and a lot fun.
Do you wear flats often or are you a heels girl?

Obsess: This Dress
I am in love with this dress from Alice + Olivia. It'd be a great New Year's Eve frock. A fun going-away dress for a bride. Perfect for an anniversary celebration. Cute for a night on the town. In fact I dare say that I'd create an occasion to wear it!
The bad news: I found it too late...it is a few years old and scarce. :-(
Have you ever fell in love with something that was no longer available?

Fall Fashion Finds
Over the last couple of years, Ann Taylor LOFT has become a go-to for me when I need to stock my closet. Their prices are reasonable and they always have great sales too. I recently scooped up a few new pieces for fall, as my autumn wardrobe is seriously lacking. They are offering 25% off your entire purchase if you need to do some updating too.
Where do you shop for fall? My closet would appreciate some suggestions. :-)

Book Bag
Kate Spade has completely redefined the words "book bag." The new Book of the Month clutches from from "Kate Spade Publishing" are perfect for bookworm fashionistas like moi. My KS wishlist is approximately 3.2 miles long now. Sigh.

Blush Beauty
I'd love to have pink hair and a pretty, rosy frock just for today. Not sure I could pull of either but it'd sure make the day more fun! Three day weekends should be a regular thing. Who's with me?

Not only do I love the skirts offered by Monique in her shop Ouma but she's recruited quite a team of talented photogs to show off her beauty. The whole click thru is a beautiful experience!

A Favor for the Gulf
I received a lovely email from Monika today who is also concerned for the Gulf. She shared with me a link to her shop Favor Jewelry which carries her beautiful jewelry. She will be donating 10% of all profits to The National Audubon Society to help with relief efforts. If you are in the market for beautiful baubles be sure to drop by and you'll be shopping for a cause.

Carrie On!
I'm sooooo excited that SATC 2 will be released to theatres tonight. My sis and I are going to do our best to squeeze into a midnight feature but who knows if tickets are still left at this point. The preview gets me so excited...
I did a little virtual shopping in honor of the release and came up with two Carrie-esque assembles if you are so inclined to have your own SATC moment. First is one of my favorite (I have many favorites) outfits of Carrie's from the series. The second is a look she wears in the movie...I've tried not too see much. I want it to be a surprise!
La Tour Eiffel Dress from Shappy Apple
Louboutin Hyper Pumps or more realistically Nine West
Clutch from Nordstrom
Pearl Earrings
Big Wild Rose from Emersonmade
Music from Pink Martini
Macaroons from Sucre'
Betsy Johnson Dress from Modcloth
B. Makowsky shoes from Piperlime
Cardigan from Ann Taylor
Timmy Woods Eiffel Tower Bag or more realistically a Dogearred SATC Eiffel Tower Necklace
Chickdowntown Studded Belt
Name Pendant from ThrowingStars
I can't get Alicia Key's "New York" out of my head and can't wait for some girl time at the theatre. Are you excited too? Will you be seeing the sequel?

I just love everything in Thief and Bandit's shop. The necklaces and bracelets are perfect for dressing up summer tees and tanks. What are your tricks for making the season's casual styles more fashionable?

Busy, Busy, Beauty, Beauty
So dear friends, I apologize for my sparse posts as of lately. The last two weeks have been quite hectic for me. I am hoping that when you hear I am well on my way to completing goals #3, #4 and #12 on my 30 before 30 list you'll forgive me.

I offer you these pretty photos from Leifdottir as a "let's still be friends" gift. Promise to be a better blogger this week!
On another note...how was your weekend?

Claire La Faye
Apparently I am late in the game when it comes to finding out about Claire La Faye's talent and amazing collection. Celebrities like Ashley Tisdale, Courtney Love, Katherine McPhee, and Samantha Harris have all donned her frocks and for good reason! I'm totally love everything in her shop and as a photographer I really appreciate the naturally lit + airy/ethereal photos. She's definitely someone I want to keep on my radar!

P.S. Take a look at her flickr for more amazing photos.

Wardrobe Starters

As if Anthro's clothing and decor didn't already have me drooling and saving pennies, their jewelry line is of course equally splendid. I'd like to have all eight of these necklaces and build a wardrobe around them. It would be hard to NOT be perfectly outfitted with a starting points like these.

Pretty Plume

I'm loving this feathery necklace from Dejarnette of New Orleans. It is kind of magical to have a sweet little fluffy quill encased in a glass bead. And just thing of how this accessory would pretty up any outfit.

Red, White and Ooh!

Normally red, white and blue seems too patriotic for me...at least to be worn on a daily basis. Don't get me wrong I love the good ole' U.S. of A. but I don't want to come off looking like Uncle Sam. This outfit c/o Anthro has me convinced that these hues would be okay. Isn't that dress darling?

La Marquise des Anges
It has been a while since I've posted some lovely, feminine frocks with ruffles of course. All the pieces in La Marquise es Anges shop are handmade and detailed in France--perfect for spring I think. Here's a little girly eye candy for you!

Headband Happy
A few months ago I bookmarked a fun headband tutorial on Rachel's blog because I am quite obsessed with hair accessories. After browsing her site some more (okay spending way to much time looking at every single thing, if I'm being honest) I found she has a bunch of easy (read: no sew) headband instructions. And if you aren't the DIY type she opened up an etsy store too. I want to set aside a whole day to get crafty and these are on the top of my list.
