Take A Chance
KSNY has done it again! Their St. Louis store hosted an installation that was as beautiful as it was magical. Named "Take A Chance" a few walls of the shop were lined with lovely colorful mini envelopes each containing a suggested chance. "Eat cake for breakfast," "sing outside of the shower," and "embrace color" were a few of the recommendations.
I'd like to make my very own version using Envelopments Roll-A-Deck by filling it with whims and fancies. What fun it would be to pull out a colorful card in moments of boredom or when inspiration is lacking and be immediately energized! And on days when you are feeling 100% the Roll-A-Deck would be a great punch of color for your office decor.

Bunting Bonanza
When looking through my bookmarks it came to my attention that a plethora of bunting, pennant, flag, whatever-you-want-to-call-its were hiding there. Over the past few months I've collected many posts and pages in this theme. Bunting just seems so celebratory and I think that is why I'm enamored by it. Even when used it everyday applications it seems cheery+cute. Below are some of my faves I've saved.

Kitchen Calendar

My kitchen needs one of these...both of these!
The tea towel calendars by Claudia Pearson are so retro chic! I always see lovely vintage calendar tea towels at flea markets, etc and it is neat to see this tradition carried on.
Her illustrated paper calendar is great too! It would be just darling in my kitchen...the colors would all coordinate nicely. And to top things off every month's illustration will show yummy delights that coincide with seasonal recipes on her blog.
I know January is days away but it is not too late to scoop up a new calendar right?

Paper Doll Sale

Illustrator, Emilee Rose has created lovely paper dolls for some time now. Sadly she is discontinuing them to pursue other projects. The bright side is these cute little dolls are on sale 50% until she sells out. That makes them only six bucks a piece! They'd be an adorable birthday gift and/or cute framed in a child's room. Scoop 'em up for the little girls in your life (or for yourself, I won't tell!)

Downtown Calendar

Seems there are so many lovely calendars to choose from these days. Beyond the bookstore, handmade + handcrafted pretties abound on Etsy. It is so hard for me to narrow down my choices to just one for the year! A few friends are actually doing a calendar wall to remedy this issue!

I have to say this is one of my favorite calendars I've seen so far: The Downtown Calendar by Jen Oaks. The colorful illustrations of seasons unfolding in the big city are just gorgeous. Another plus is the large size of 12x18.5"--there is plenty of space to write in dates!
I'm still deciding on my final calendar choice.
What calendar have you chosen for 2010? Can you believe it is just around the corner?

Joyeux Noel
The Christmas Season is officially upon us! I thought I'd usher in the season with these lovely, whimsical cards from Babouche Rouge. I'd love to get one of these beauties in the mail. Have you picked out your Christmas cards yet--if so, what design did you decide on?

Great Full Giveaway: Orange Beautiful

I've been a fan of Orange Beautiful for so long and once I joined the blogosphere and "met" Emily I became a bonafide groupie. She made me smile twice in the last week. First I received a lovely package in the mail with several neat goodies including the Do Something About It booklet I'd been lusting over. It is so fun to get little works of art in the mail. The booklet (and everything else she sent) is so darned cute it is going to take a few days for me to break it in.

My second smile came when Emily said she'd like to host a giveaway for you, my dear readers. And what's up for grabs is something I know you'll like and use: calendar anyone? Oh did I say calendar--I meant calendarS! That's right two lucky entrants will each receive one of Orange Beautiful's newly released Perpetual Calendars. I love the design of these modern calendars that feature varying typefaces. You can even pick from tan, red, yellow or blue to fit your taste. Believe me they are chic enough that you'll love to showcase one on your desk for years to come.

So how do you get your hands on a free calendar? Here are the details:
--Leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite month is and why.
--Be sure to do so by November 5, 2009 at midnight CST.
--One entry per person please.
--Anonymous entries will be disqualified.
--Be sure to leave your email info so I can find you if you won.
--Two winners will be announced on November 6th.
So what are you waiting for? Comment now and in a few weeks you can be enjoying this creative calendar. Good luck!

Halloween Survival
Mrs. Limestone never fails to blow me away with her creativity! She just posted her Halloween party invitations that came to life as Creature Survival Kits. I totally wish I was close by + invited to her parties...can you imagine getting such a unique package in the mail? It is not every day the mailman delivers holy water, a stake, bullet and matches all in the name of All Hallows Eve.

Have you done any creative Halloween projects? I'd love to hear about them!

The Most Awesome Wedding Invites Ever!
I totally intended to sign off for the weekend but the ever fabulous Jessica Claire just wowed me beyond words and I had to share immediately. Today she shared her save the dates and invitations for her wedding that is only a month away! Now the STDs are lovely but the invites totally got me!
A hollowed out book held the request for each guest's presence. And the library card inside the cover held the map, response card, and wedding details. A wax seal, antique button, letterpressed type and burnt edges make each one quite the custom piece. Each book was hand chosen for its color, size, etc. I'm pretty sure that each person receiving one of these beauties was as impressed as I am. Now I can't wait to see the wedding details! The count down is on...

I love this silkscreened poster by wonting. It was designed for the band mascott but it is cute enough to hang up in your home.

Letterpress Love
I love letterpress so when I found Mimi's company Mika78 I fell in love. It is not just her beautiful invitations that got me but the fantastic photography, product styling, website design...all the little things. Having "the whole package" is a big selling point for me. When a company puts lots of effort into the simple things I feel assured that the product will be great too. The photographer in me is oh so drawn to the yummy detail images of the impressions and the grain of the paper. Visit her shop and get a dose of pretty.
