Colombia

Yesterday was an amazing day for me. My husband came home after 30 long days in Bogota, Colombia. He traveled there for work and it was a long 720 hours. The hubs and I have been an item for 11 years and the longest we've been apart before this point was a mere 7 days. But we got through it and I'm super happy to have him back home safe and sound.

So as to not have the time drag on and be super lonely I tried to keep very busy. Thankfully I was blessed with a couple great trips to NOLA, lots of time with my family, plenty of photo shoots and lots of projects around the house. As you can imagine this has kept me quite busy! Now that life is settling back down a bit, at least routine wise, I'll be a better blogger again.

I'll share some great photos my hubby took with a little point-and-shoot camera on his international trek.

Have you ever had to be away from your sweetie for a long period of time? I don't know how military wives do it! Thank goodness for Skype!

  1. I am Colombian. I went to Colombia and took some pictures a few years back, but they didn't come out this beautifully! Your husband is a great photographer! Thank you for sharing. This took me back to my child hood when i was raised there. Great memories.

  2. Oh, I'm that military wife you are talking about. My husband has been deployed for over two months now, & it's no fun at all. Not whatsoever. Even WITH skype! But the fact that we have 10 months left makes me not go quite so crazy. If I lose it now, what will I do?! So instead, I blog about my travels {London was my most recent!} & read lovely blogs like yours ♥

So glad you have your sweetie back!!

  3. I hate it when Lee goes out of town on business for several days so I don't know how you managed to keep it together with him gone for a month! So happy he's home and I'm very happy you'll be blogging a little more. I've missed you!

  4. Adrianna,
He definitely said there were differences between the U.S. and Colombia but he loved the area...quite beautiful!

    Amanda,
I don't know how you do it! I did lots of projects and traveled to keep occupied. I hope the next 10 months go by quickly for you and that your hubby stays safe. I am grateful for both of you and your service to our country!

    Cyndi,
I've missed you too! It was tough, but easier than I thought. But that doesn't mean I want him to have to do it again. haha

  5. my hubby and I did live a year apart. We called it - taking a hit for the them. He was in the military and we wanted to live and retire (or get out) where we are now. So to get your top pick on the next moves list for the military you have had it hard to get it easy! I will say - he was not in harms way so that was good. I truly don't know how wives and husbands handle having their spouse in a war zone.

Bogota is very modern with bright blue skies! Nice pics for a point and shot!

  6. Great images! I had imagined Bogotá quite different...
I know how hard it is to be away from your sweetheart for such a long time. Back in the army, my boyfriend at the time served in a position that had him away for a month or more at a time, and then he'd return for the weekend before heading back out... That wasn't easy!

  8. Thank you, Lindsey. It's God who is making it all go so well :) Thank goodness for His Peace!! ♥

I am so proud of my husband for all that he does. I'm sometimes numb to it; I suppose that's how you get through, otherwise I'd just be a worried mess!

Have a great weekend with your sweetie!!
