Blue Bathrooms

You can just say I was ahead of the times...
I painted my office in the fall of last year and the color I chose is pretty darn close to Pantone's color of the year for 2010, it is just a bit lighter. Since then, I've kind of become a bit enamored by the shade. It reminds me of the beach and the beach makes me happy. Imagine my delight when it was crowned color of the year.

If we hadn't just redecorated our guest bath in a lovely pale green you can bet it'd be getting spruced up with a hint of blue too. This pretty turquoise color seems just perfect for a bathroom too, when done right of course. Some of my favorite finds using this hue are below. Don't you agree this shade is a bathroom do?

  1. my hubby and i are in the middle of a bathroom redo (half of the 1950's tile is down and I don't understand why they used an inche of cement to hold the tile up). So these lovely blue bathrooms have me thinking!

  5. Oh, yes turquoise has to be one of the most beautiful colors in the color spectrum! It's the color for my blog actually; and have you seen Erin's blog: House of Turquoise? That's all she blogs about :)

  10. Seems like lots of you have this color in your bedrooms...another perfect place for them.

Drifter & Gypsy: nothing beats a little sponge paint right? :-)

  11. I love the color in the first picture! Very pretty for a bathroom! I'm banned from using blue anywhere else in our house -- even though it's both of our favorite colors. We painted half of our master bedroom blue (it's a beach-inspired room), our dining room is blue, and the guest room (for now) is blue. I wouldn't mind having every room a shade of blue though!

  12. Hi there,
I thought you might appreciate this project my blogging partner just did: http://www.savingmoneylivinglife.com/2010/01/diy-kitchen-renovation-on-budget.html
It's such a cute little blue kitchen now. You are so right, the color of blue in just the right shade evokes the beach, and who doesn't want to be there?!
