To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Wizard Of Oz, Swarovski and 19 talented designers teamed up to re-create Dorothy's ruby slippers in a modern way. All the girls in my family love the Wizard Of Oz...we've been watching it since we were little. So checking out these amazing shoes is super fun! Of course all of the designers really did a great job. All the shoes and sketches are being auctioned off to benefit EGPAF. Way to pricey for me of course but what a collectible these will make for some lucky bidder!

Gorgeous! I wonder what clothing designers would do to update/upgrade her dress...
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love how the Mochino design meets in a bow at the front center AND looks beautiful apart, as well, but I'm a sucker for those gorgeous ones by Oscar de la Renta!
ReplyDeleteSusan, that is a great point! I'd love to see Project Runway to do Dorothy update...wouldn't that be neat? I too LOVE how the Moschino heels make the bow together and still look amazing apart. So clever!

I love the first pair pictured here ($1,100!!). My name is Dorothy and I've always had a thing for ruby slippers. My personal magic slippers are velvet red flats by Marc Jacobs :)
