He's Like the Wind

Like many, I am saddened by the passing of Patrick Swayze. It would be impossible for me to count how many times I've seen Dirty Dancing--it is one of my favorite movies. I loved it from the first time I watched it as a pre-teen and the feeling only grew as I grew up and met my (would be) husband. He looks a lot like Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.

Aside from him starring in one of my favorite movies I've always respected him as a person. I love that he had a long lasting relationship with his wife, so rare this days in Hollywood. And even when battling cancer he inspired by saying "One thing I'm not gonna do is chase staying alive. You spend so much time chasing staying alive, you won't live." I got the feeling from his interviews and news that he soaked up every last bit of his life.

I'll miss you Patrick Swayze. You'll always be the best dirty dancer.

  4. Yup, I love how he and his wife made it - a healthy relationship in Hollywood, what a rareity.

And I love DD too! Brian hasn't seen it yet, so I see a DD night in his future!

  5. Thanks Sparrow's Nest and Mrs. Limestone. It is odd but I feel really sad about his passing.

SSM: I haven't watched DD since his passing now but I'm sure it will be different.

Dionne: Hollywood is not known for healthy relationships for sure. And sadly these days even outside of Hollywood they are few and far between. You MUST make Brian watch it!

    Gratefully yours,
