Staycation: NOLA

The hubby and I have so much going on that is requiring us to stay close by + we have a few trips planned for the end of the year/beginning of next year + let's just face it the economy is scary, so we decided to take a mini staycation this weekend to fulfill our desire to "get out of town." We are lucky to be close to New Orleans so we took a trip to one of our favorite cities.

I have a few fun posts highlighting some of our favorite stops coming up this week but I thought I'd start off with these photos from around the town. They show the history of this fabulous city. Everyone in Louisiana was affected by Hurricane Katrina...NOLA holds a place in all of our hearts. They are still rebuilding and growing but are welcoming visitors--they'd love to have you!

Stay tuned for more NOLA love.
What are your favorite cities to take day trips to? Any neat places you are close by?

These photos are my own. They will be available as prints soon.

  6. I used to call New Orleans home, and like you, I hold that city close to my heart. Now I'm in north Louisiana. I recently visited Natchitoches, just south of Shreveport. Architecture wise, the downtown is like a super mini New Orleans.
