You'd think that with all the shoes I own, I wouldn't need help with, well...shoes. But I do! We're taking a trip early next month where we'll be doing lots (lots!) of walking. I'm on the hunt for some comfy shoes. I'm not big on traditional tennis shoes, maybe some fashion type sneakers would work. We'll be dressed casually on the trip so no worries about finding anything fancy. I'd really like to find a pair of reasonably cute shoes that will keep my feet happy. Can you help point me in the right direction? What are the most comfortable shoes you own? Help!

Can You Help Me?

That are cute- not tennis shoes- My Rocket Dogs. They're lace up like tennis shoes but much cuter. I tried to find them for you but they're a couple of seasons old. I love them.
ReplyDeletei have asic tiger shoes that i love. they have them in a million colors and they're comfy too.

bare trap boots are amazing! i bought a pair at tj maxx and they have been on my feet every day!
ReplyDeleteI am not the best person to give advice on comfy shoes, I will need to be peeking at everyone else's suggestions!
ReplyDeleteMerrell's are sooo super comfy...and once in awhile you can find a cute pair (either on their website or sites like zappos.com or shoes.com) but it's iffy. If that doesn't work out I always have luck with Puma's...I have at least 5 pair and I trekked through Italy in some with no problem!
ReplyDeleteI second the vote for Merrell.
ReplyDeleteOthers I know swear by Dansko, but they don't work for my feet.
Cole haan with nike air in the heels
ReplyDeleteCheck out Hush Puppies (mm, padded insoles!) and Clarks!
ReplyDeletePrivos by Clarks are really stylish and cute and comfy!

The 2 most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own are both by Clarks, the Unstructured collection. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteMerrills are the best for lots of walking...and you can find killer deals. I wore mine around Italy for 10 days and never had a problem. I also recently bought some black leather slip on Sketchers for weddings. I call them my nurse shoes, but they're comfy. : )
ReplyDeleteKeen and Born both are great comfortable brands. A little on the more expensive side, but they have good lasting power and conform to your feet!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about shoes, but I highly recommend TOE SOCKS for long days of walking. By keeping your toes apart, you won't get any chafing or toe rubbage. Helps with foot sweat too. (Sorry...not very lady-like, but that's life!) Seek out toe socks that have formed heels and come in shoe sizes--they fit much better in the toes than those one-size-fits all deals you find in Target or Wal-Mart. Pack & Paddle has a small selection, but I prefer the ones made by ToeToe, found at www.sockdreams.com . Hope that helps!
ReplyDeletecomfy usually does not equal cute but I have a pair of black flats from Aldo that I used to wear for 12 hrs days back in retail hell that never left me aching!
ReplyDeleteSketchers makes some cute leather sneakers that I found very comfy... similar to Puma, but a little cheaper.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a pair of toms (http://www.tomsshoes.com/InternationalMap.aspx)?
ReplyDeleteOr take a pair of Yosi Samra flats in your purse just in case your feet get tired of the shoes you do decide to wear. http://shop.yosisamra.com/
Or these sleek leather converse? http://www.converse.com/#/products/shoes/sales/512764
Keep shoes (http://www.keepcompany.com/) makes some cute takes on the classic tennis shoe.
Sometimes you can get lucky with keds but you must wear them in first!
Where are you going?
I have a pair of Pumas, sort of an army green and pink, sleek, not bulky like traditional tennies, and they are the most comfy shoes I own. I've worn them through 2 pregnancies and wear them for hiking all the time. Check out some Pumas. i don;t think you'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteAnd you WILL tell us what you picked, right?

I agree with Merrels....I have very flat feet so nothing is ever comfortable on me. My grandmother told me about Merrels and I was skeptical, I didnt want to wear ugly shoes... I have these, they are way cuter in person! Good luck!

Thanks so much for all the tips guys!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking through all of your suggestions and they've helped a bunch. I'll keep you posted with what I decide on.
Gratefully yours,

Hi! I just stumbled across your blog and wanted to suggest simpleshoes.com. I bought a pair of shoes from their sale section for $19.99 (originally $120 if I remember correctly) and LOVE them. I am super picky about comfort, too. My other go-to shoes are Puma sneakers, and before I had those, I wore Skechers almost daily. I've also heard that Tom's shoes (http://www.tomsshoes.com) are very comfy. Plus for each pair you buy, they donate a pair to a child in need.
ReplyDeleteMerrels are great - both their sandals and tennis shoes. I also have a pair of Born sandals I bought specifically for a trip to Italy. The first time I went to Italy I had what I thought were comfortable shoes but ended up with terrible blisters.
ReplyDeleteAlso, check out tripadvisor.com - search for walking shoes in the forums and you will find hundreds of posts.
No matter what shoes you bring, I would definitely bring a pack of Band-Aid blister pads. They really work and I never travel without them!
Have a great trip!
so glad i stumbled upon your site...i think you'll appreciate/enjoy both of my blogs (one fashion/beauty and the other home design/cooking) ... i just did a reader request post about a similar topic, hope it helps you out too: http://www.runwaydaily.com/runwaydaily/2010/01/reader-faverave-rebecca-c-needs-multipurpose-and-comfortable-shoe-options.html
ReplyDeletecheers to creative bloggers indeed!!
