Cookie Cottages

I have a thing for gingerbread houses but its been a long while since I've built any that didn't come out of a Wilton box...probably since I was a child actually. On Martha Stewart's Christmas Workshop I found these little cuties that require only graham crackers for a foundation. This may be one little village I can do myself--and a super cute one at that!

  1. Oh my goodness! This is totally bringing back memories of making gingerbread houses in class in elementary school! It's incredible how things we did as kids can still be just as fun as adults :)

  3. Amanda: It is so true! I did these as a kid too but of course they weren't half as cute. I'm thinking this would be a fun way to bring back that childlike feeling. And maybe the houses would be even cuter now!

Lauren: I agree. #1 and #2 are my faves.

  7. I just pulled these out of y Christmas file last night and showed these to my 5 year old and he has plans to make a whole neighborhood at our 2nd annual gingerbread (grahm cracker) decorating event.
He was so inspired by these ideas.
Last year the kids came up with amazing ideas. They made nativity scenes with marshmallow peep snowmen.
I'll post pics when we make them!

  8. thelovelycity: I agree the snowman and bird are too cute!

You Are My Fave: I have to think that mine wouldn't either! Even though they wouldn't be as great as Martha's I'm sure they'd still be cute. And the experience of making them would be fun too!

Mommy of Three: I've always wanted to have a gingerbread decorating party--it sounds so fun! I'm so glad your son is going to be trying these out. Please do post pics, I can't wait too see. And kids are so creative! Marshmellow nativity scenes--genius!

    Gratefully yours,
