A Bittersweet Reunion

If you need a pick me up or just want to hear an amazing story then visiting Julia's blog is a must. It holds and inspiring tale of two families from across the globe uniting.

At a young age of 33, the then single Julia led a mission trip to China where she was moved by on particular child in the orphanage--Jiacheng, who had been abandoned . After returning home and praying about how she could help him, she decided to adopt him. In 2001 the adoption was official and Jiacheng came to live with her here in America. Over the years he would tell her stories and recount memories of his family back home. As the loving mother she was, Julia wrote down notes from all these conversations in case her son ever wanted to find his biological family. At the age of 14 he requested just that and her search began. After 3 years she found his family and learned that they did not abandon him but rather he was lost in a busy bus station. They had looked for him for years. She recently took Jiacheng to meet his family back in China. His birth mother is suffering from cancer so this reunion is extra special.

I am awed and amazed by the courage, strength and love it must take in this situation. What an amazing story!

  2. Wow! What an amazing story. I really need to do the dishes, iron a basket of laundry and some other things too, I'm sure, but I can't tear myself away from that blog and all those links.

I can't imagine what any of them are feeling right now.
