I found this blog post and cried. Maybe I'm just a weepy kind of person but to me this tribute to her friend, a person that owed her nothing but gave her so much was beautiful to me. I sincerely recommend you read it as it highlights a part of Hollywood that I hope will be sustained through others.
John Hughes played such a huge roll in a generation and will continue to do so I think through the many fans who will keep replaying and rewatching and reloving his masterpieces. I think this weekend I'm going to spend some time with The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller. Rest in Peace, Mr. Hughes and thank you!

Oh wow. This is amazing. While the rest of us got to know the characters in his movies, she got to know the real man. How awesome, and how touching!
ReplyDeleteDionne, isn't it? Amazing that such a busy and talented man was still humble enough to contact a fan. I love it!
ReplyDeleteGratefully yours,

So sad about this. I had no idea he wrote She's Having a Baby and Christmas Vacation until I read it in the paper. Two of my favorite underated movies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. That was a very touching post. I have been sad all day about John Hughes.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Limestone: He did many good movies that aren't automatically associated with him like you said.
ReplyDeleteKara: I too am sad about it. He was quite the artist.
Gratefully yours,
