Giveaway: Shabby Apple
As you know, I'm a big fan of Shabby Apple. It seems each new collection is even better than the last. The Berkshires is their latest line is inspired by "magical days when summer slips into fall and the air starts to smell crisp and clean and leaves start to color and apples start to ripen and it feels like the whole world is starting over again new." Believe me each dress is as lovely as this description!
The best news is: one lucky reader will win their choice of dress from The Berkshires collection!
Are you ready to try your luck?
Leave a comment on this post telling me which dress from The Berkshires collection is your favorite. Be sure to do so by August 30, 2010 at midnight CST. At that time I'll randomly select a winner who will receive their favorite Berkshires dress. Easy as that! Good luck!

The Great Give: Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that time is running out for The Great Give! You have til midnight on Sunday to email, comment or blog your great give.
I've received some very sweet emails, comments and links and hope that you'll take part too. Not only will you feel great for doing a good deed but you'll have a chance at winning over $1600 in prizes (total). There will be three winners so your chances are good. And really who needs a reason to be grateful, helping and kind this time of year?!?!
Take time this weekend to do your own Great Give. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Donate some extra clothes to a shelter.
- Bake cookies for a friend.
- Visit a nursing home and provide companionship to those who are lonely.
- Start you own Red Kettle.
- Ring a bell for the Salvation Army.
- Donate a toy to a children's shelter.
- Sponsor a needy family in your community.
- Sing carols with your kids in the children's ward of a hospital.
What would change a life, help someone out, or a brighten a day in your community? Do it! What are you waiting for?!?
In case you need a refresher...here are the rules for The Great Give....
- In order to enter this contest you must do a great, good deed. What kind of good deed? Well that is up to you! Maybe you'll donate funds to a charity that is close to your heart. Maybe you'll bake cookies for a few neighborhood kids. Maybe you'll volunteer at an organization that needs help. What does your heart tell you to do? What could really help your friends, family, or community? Whatever you feel moved to do will qualify! Use your heart and imagination and make a great give!
- Remember that little deeds and seemingly small actions can set off a chain of positivity that could in essence change lives and the world.
- Please don't shy away from entering because you think your idea is not big enough or great enough!
- Use this as an opportunity to involve your spouse, family, and children. Let them help you in doing great things.
- Once you've done your own great give, write about it on your blog. Your action doesn't have to be huge in scale or cost lots of money. It just has to be heartfelt. When writing about your great deed(s) be sure to say why you choose to do this and how it turned out. Elaborate with photos if you want to.
- Please don't shy away from entering because you think your idea is not big enough or great enough!
- If you don't have a blog you can email your entry to: lindseysgreatfull at gmail dot com.
- After you've blogged about your entry, comment on this post with a link directing us to your great give. Be sure to turn in your link by December 7th at midnight CST.
- I will read all of the entrants and select three of my favorites to win fabulous prize packages.
- Winners will be announced by December 11th, 2009 so please check back.
And if you need a little motivation...here are the goodies that you could take home as a result of doing a good, no, great deed!

What could you do in the next few days to make the world a better place. Sometimes it doesn't take much to make a change. Join me, won't you?

Great Full Giveaway: Orange Beautiful

I've been a fan of Orange Beautiful for so long and once I joined the blogosphere and "met" Emily I became a bonafide groupie. She made me smile twice in the last week. First I received a lovely package in the mail with several neat goodies including the Do Something About It booklet I'd been lusting over. It is so fun to get little works of art in the mail. The booklet (and everything else she sent) is so darned cute it is going to take a few days for me to break it in.

My second smile came when Emily said she'd like to host a giveaway for you, my dear readers. And what's up for grabs is something I know you'll like and use: calendar anyone? Oh did I say calendar--I meant calendarS! That's right two lucky entrants will each receive one of Orange Beautiful's newly released Perpetual Calendars. I love the design of these modern calendars that feature varying typefaces. You can even pick from tan, red, yellow or blue to fit your taste. Believe me they are chic enough that you'll love to showcase one on your desk for years to come.

So how do you get your hands on a free calendar? Here are the details:
--Leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite month is and why.
--Be sure to do so by November 5, 2009 at midnight CST.
--One entry per person please.
--Anonymous entries will be disqualified.
--Be sure to leave your email info so I can find you if you won.
--Two winners will be announced on November 6th.
So what are you waiting for? Comment now and in a few weeks you can be enjoying this creative calendar. Good luck!
